Discover What's On For the Summer Holidays in Coventry

Summer Holidays are nearly here! If you're worried about how you're going to keep the kids entertained then no fear, Coventry is bursting with family-friendly adventures to keep all ages interested. From dinosaurs to Roman soldiers,  to outdoor adventures and unique experiences, there’s plenty to keep your family busy all summer long!

Want to step back in time and meet a Roman Centurion head over to The Lunt Roman Fort.  There is a summer programme packed with crafts, games, storytelling, and real Roman soldier drills.  Complete all the challenges and your little soldiers will get a Roman Recruit Certificate! They are also running the Lunt Roman Festival 2026 on the 8th and 9th of August. 

Coventry Cathedral are offering a free session entitled Let's Play - Celebrate yourself!  This runs every Thursday throughout the holiday from 10am - 12noon and is suitable for all families.  So do drop by.  For all the Winnie the Pooh fans out there the Cathedral is also hosting Let's Watch & Make - Winnie the Pooh  on the 23rd July from 10am - 12 noon and this is also free!  There will be crafts and a "Winnie the Pooh" (2011) film to watch.  

What child doesn't love Dinosaurs!  Be sure to go and visit The Herbert Art Gallery to Unearth the Palaeoverse: Dig Into the Dawn of Time.  This is an immersive experience and is included with admission to the gallery.  You and the kids will also get to see Dippy in Coventry, the nation's favourite dinosaur.  One not to be missed.  

If your little one wants to be a king or queen for the day head over to St Mary's Guildhall for Majestic Monarchs of the Guildhall.  There are two fun challenges and discoveries for younger and older children.  There is also dressing up options and lots of crafts and things to enjoy all summer.  

Looing for a school holiday getaway?  Ansty Hall is offering Kids Stay Free!  Available during the school holidays: Friday 17th July to Tuesday 2nd September 2026.  Book bed and breakfast in the room type of your choice for up to for two adults and up to two children, 12 years or under, sharing the room will stay and eat breakfast free!

Any dare devils and adventurers will enjoy a trip to Go Ape for treetop adventures or The Wave to have a splash around.
