Outdoor Dining in Coventry

When it comes to enjoying a bite to eat or a few drinks, there’s nothing quite like going alfresco to add to the occasion.

Coventry has a huge choice of outdoor options whether it’s for a slap-up meal, a quick bite, a casual cocktail, or an afternoon in the sun. Alfresco options have never been more in demand, and luckily we have plenty in the city to cater for every taste, budget and need. And even if the sun doesn’t shine, the great food and drink on offer are enough to bring a smile to anyone’s face.

Restaurants with outdoor space in Coventry

When it comes to food there are more outdoor options in Coventry than ever before. For Brazilian, Mexican & Latin American food & cocktails, Las Iguanas is in the heart of the city centre, while Bella Italia and Pizza Express will give you an alfresco fix of your favourite Italian flavours.

The Slug & Lettuce is offering a special outdoor menu complete with small plates, as well as a bottomless brunch if you’re after a bit of a celebration, and The GD on Medieval Spon Street offers everything from brilliant burgers to stunning Sunday roasts. For flavours from around the world, get a taste of the Caribbean courtesy of Leave it to Esmie at FarGo Village or tuck into authentic Korean barbecue food outside at Jinseon Korean BBQ Restaurant & Bar.

For more of a fine dining option, Earlsdon Supper Club is back with its terrace option from April 24th, while Coventry Dining Club is also back in the city, offering the very best of the region’s street food in the impressive setting of the Cathedral Ruins.

For breakfast, you can head to Gourmet Food Kitchen at FarGo Village where you can enjoy breakfast and brunch dishes al fresco. And for anyone with a bit of a sweet tooth or special occasion, just outside the city Coombe Abbey offers you the chance to enjoy a decadent afternoon tea on the terrace in its beautiful grounds.

Beer gardens and tipples on the terrace

If you’re on the hunt for drinks rather than food, you’ve come to the right place. From traditional pub beer gardens, to the option of cocktails in courtyards or even a rooftop bar, Coventry has it all.

In the city centre, Wetherspoon pub The Spon Gate has plenty of outdoor seating to accommodate drinkers, while Twisted Barrel Brewery & Tap House at FarGo Village also has some open-air tables for you to enjoy some of their own beer as well as wines, spirits, ciders, soft drinks and bar snacks. Tiki bar Samoan Joes has its very own cocktail garden where you can enjoy all the fun in the open air, while Coventry’s award-winning LGBT+ venue The Yard also has outdoor seating and plenty of entertainment as well as drinks, karaoke, games nights and more.

Dhillon’s Spire Bar is the creation of popular local brewery Dhillons and has taken up residence in the Christchurch Spire in the heart of the city on New Union Street, offering great beers in a historical landmark with the option to enjoy drinks in its courtyard. The brand new Telegraph Hotel also has its own alfresco space perfect for a drink or a bite to eat. Its rooftop terrace, Generators Bar at the Telegraph Hotel, is the perfect spot for a cocktail or two and some tapas.

The Telegraph Hotel’s rooftop bar Generators is the most unique setting in the city overlooking Coventry’s Belgrade Plaza. Experience one of the top rooftop bars in the UK while sipping on our signature cocktails.

Slightly out of the city centre, head to the Hearsall Inn for a drink outside accompanied by authentic Mexican food from Good Food Cartel, or try The Cottage in Earlsdon complete with its revamped garden.

These are just a handful of some of the great outdoor options Coventry has to offer. Take the fun outdoors – we know you’ll love it.
