As part of our 10th Birthday celebrations, join Graham Duff in conversation with three local musical legends The Dirt Road Band, Horace Panter (The Specials), Steve Walwyn, ( Dr Feelgood) and Ted Duggan (Badinger, Banco de Gaia).
He’ll talk through some of the high, low and hilarious points of their decades in the music business.
This event will take place in Just Dropped In – please pre-book your free ticket. Limited spaces
Please join us for the launch of the book “The St Mary’s Hall Coventry Tapestry: Weaving the Threads Together”. When Coventry was European City of Culture in 2019 a conference was held to celebrate one of the city’s most precious cultural legacies, the early-sixteenth-century tapestry in St Mary’s Hall. The proceedings of that conference are now published with additional materials and many high-resolution photographs, edited by Mark Webb.
The evening will include a panel talk with contributors Joanna Laynesmith, Jonathan Foyle, Wendy Toulson and Mark Webb, the opportunity to buy the book and light refreshments.
Come and hear the stories of Coventry residents of the 1860s and how they survived the crisis affecting the ribbon industry.
Our researchers will reveal the stories of: John Cash, ribbon manufacturer; Charles Bray, ribbon manufacturer and host of the Rosehill Circle; Thomas Stevens, inventor of the Stevengraph; Lizzy Stuart, singer of Scottish songs – and wearer of ribbons.
