Coventry hotels and attractions are ramping up the romance this Valentine’s Day, with plenty of ways for couples, singles and friends to celebrate.

Visit Coventry, the organisation responsible for supporting the visitor economy in the city, is highlighting the wide range of options over the romantic weekend of 13, 14 and 15 February.

From dreamy date nights, special stays and spa visits to Galentines get-togethers, evenings at the cinema and fun nights out with friends.

Paul McMahon, Managing Director at Visit Coventry, said: “Valentine’s Day weekend is a great opportunity to enjoy Coventry at its very best.

“Venues across the city and surrounding area are providing the perfect backdrop for a romantic dinner, quality time with friends, relaxing experiences and much more.

“There’s still time to book and plan special experiences and treat yourself, your partners and your friends to something a little bit different this Valentine’s Day.”

Coombe Abbey Hotel is set to host a Love Shack Silent Disco from 4pm to 10pm on 14 February too, with couples, singles and friends invited to enjoy a day on the dancefloor with a mix of anthems, 80s, 90s and classic dance music.

Meanwhile, for couples seeking a more private romantic experience, the hotel is offering its Romancing at Coombe package over the weekend – with an overnight stay in its Crown or Feature Bedchamber, with a bottle of house champagne, flowers, chocolates waiting in the room, dinner in the Garden Room Restaurant and morning breakfast too.

Heart of England Conference Centre in Fillongley is offering a weekend full of options for singles and couples. On Valentine’s night, singles looking to meet someone new are invited to attend a Speed Dating Special, with guests encouraged to skip the swiping, make new connections and potentially meet someone to spend Valentine’s Day with next year.

Meanwhile, couples are invited to enjoy a three-course meal under the stars at The Quicken Tree – a modern restaurant on site at the conference centre.

For friends planning a Galentine’s catch-up, Draycote Hotel near Coventry is offering a Valentine’s Afternoon Tea option, alongside its Valentine’s dinner and overnight packages.

Afternoon tea is also on the menu for a special event on Sunday 15 February at Stoneleigh Abbey, with guests able to enjoy a Romantic Poets guided tour of the abbey after tea.

While couples can also book in at Ansty Hall in Ansty, where Valentine’s weekend experiences from 13 to 15 February include a themed afternoon tea and a three-course dinner with arrival drinks.

The atmospheric Tales of Tea at St Marys Guildhall will host a valentine’s afternoon tea from February 11 to 15, complete with a beautifully curated selection of sweet and savoury treats, including Severn & Wye smoked salmon with black pepper cream cheese sandwiches, a white chocolate & strawberry heart, heart-shaped vanilla shortbread, and more indulgent delights to be enjoyed in the historic heart of Coventry.

 

St Mary's Guildhall Afternoon Tea

 

Those looking to mix romance with relaxation can head to Windmill Village Hotel in Allesley, which is hosting a range of experiences, including dinner in Loft18, themed afternoon tea, spa evenings and overnight stays.

Marco Pierre White, at the Manor Hotel in Meriden, is serving up a Valentine’s dining experience designed for sharing, with signature dishes including beef wellington and surf & turf.

There will also be a opportunities for cosy, candlelit dinners in the heat of Coventry from 7 to 14 February at Cogs Bar & Kitchen at Hotel Indigo, with a specially created three-course menu designed for sharing.

Further afield in Warwickshire, the chefs at Alveston Manor in Stratford-upon-Avon will be cooking up a romantic dining experience on 14 February in its Manor Restaurant.

Film fanatics can enjoy a Valentine’s cinema experience with a twist, with Warwick Arts Centre at the University of Warwick screening a Valentine’s-themed mystery film on 14 February, alongside a programme of new releases and romance favourites.

Sports fans can head to Coventry Skydome Arena to see Coventry Blaze face Dundee Stars on the evening of 14 February too, with the Coventry set to don a special Valentine’s jersey.

Coventry’s parks and outdoor spaces also provide a relaxing setting for a romantic walk, with Coombe Abbey Country Park and Charterhouse Heritage Park only two of the multiple options for stroll.
