MORTAL

This Halloween, Coventry’s EGO Arts brings you Mortal, a gruesome tale performed at London Road Cemetery.

One dark evening in 1885, Dr Cornelius Hunter is looking to cut a deal. But finding himself caught between the Crows and the Perkins, he soon discovers he has more to fear from the living than the dead.

Recommended for ages 16+. Content warnings: strong language and violence.

GOOD TO KNOW Audiences must arrive at the cemetery's carriageway entrance between 7.45pm and 8pm. Latecomers will not be admitted. The entrance can be found on London Road opposite the Charterhouse car park, by the pedestrian crossing. A host will point you in the right direction if you arrive at the car park. Refreshments will be available at the start of the evening. There will be no interval. The first section of the performance (lasting around 30 minutes) will take place on a wheelchair accessible route through the cemetery. You will remain standing and move between a few locations for this part of the performance. The rest of the performance (around 1 hour) will take place inside the cemetery’s Anglican Chapel, where you will be seated. Hosts will be present to guide you safely around the cemetery, answer any questions before the show and take care of accessibility needs. The performers will not interact with the audience during the show. Mortal is a theatre performance and not an interactive experience. Recommended for ages 16+. Content warnings: strong language and violence. PARKING Free parking is available at the Charterhouse car park. Here, hosts will guide you to the cemetery entrance, a 2-minute walk across a pedestrian crossing. ACCESS INFORMATION BSL interpretation and Audio Description will be provided at some performances. Dates TBC. Audiences are required to stand and move between a few outdoor locations during the first section of the performance, lasting around 30 minutes. Please contact us in advance if you are unable to stand for this length of time. The walking route and chapel are wheelchair accessible. The show will take place at ground level. An accessible toilet is available in the Anglican Chapel. Wheelchair users, and those unable to attend unaccompanied due to a disability, are entitled to one free companion ticket. Companion tickets must be booked in advance as space is limited. Assistance dogs for disabled people are welcome.
