Aimed at 0-4 but older children are welcome
The Herbert’s popular FREE early year’s exhibition for families will be returning this summer with Jurassic Playground.
Taking inspiration from Dippy, the Nation’s favourite dinosaur, from the Natural History Museum, our youngest visitors will encounter specially designed art works in a world of sensory spaces, that will encourage imaginations and allow children the freedom to explore in a space designed specifically for under 5s.
Older children are welcome to join in too, as this is an inclusive family experience.
The early years exhibition will feature ceiling installations from local artist, Julia Snowdin, to take in the wonders all around and up and above as babies, children and their grown-ups lie back and relax in our sensory pods. Regional artist, Roots0121 is returning to the Herbert once again this year to redesign the pod spaces, bringing in intrinsic street art design to the play space with a Jurassic twist. Tactile resources and playthings will be spread throughout the exhibition, with calming sound effects and gentle lighting adding to the overall ambiance of the space.
Open 7 days a week throughout the duration of the summer holidays, this is the perfect space to retreat to for free, family fun.
