Coventry parks receive international recognition

Five of Coventry’s parks have all been awarded the prestigious Green Flag, in recognition of their excellence.

Coombe Abbey Park, War Memorial Park, Allesley, Longford and Caludon Castle Park have all received the Green Flag Award – the international quality mark for parks and green spaces, awarded by Keep Britain Tidy.

Coombe Abbey Park has been awarded the Green Flag for the last 16 years and for the second year running, they have also been awarded the Green Heritage Site Accreditation, supported by Historic England, for the management of its historic features.

Councillor Abdul Salam Khan, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Parks, said:

“It’s fantastic news that Coventry’s parks have again been awarded Green Flag status and recognised as excellent green spaces.

I’d like to congratulate the teams who have put in all the hard work to make this happen and to all our staff who work so hard in making our green spaces the beautiful places they are for residents and visitors to our city.”
