Bhangra Brewery Brunch thriving at Dhillon’s Brewery

A unique brunch event in Coventry which combines an award-winning brewery with bhangra is continuing to grow and set to welcome one of the genre’s biggest stars.

Panjabi MC is set to perform in his home city this month and headline the Bhangra Brewery Brunch at Dhillon’s Brewery on Saturday 14 October.

The international music producer and DJ is best known for his global smash bhangra hit ‘Mundian To Bach Ke’ which sold 10 million copies worldwide. He has worked with a variety of influential artists and global brands, including Beenie Man, Twista, Beyonce and The Pussycat Dolls.

Dhillon’s Brewery has seen hundreds of people enjoy its Bhangra Brewery Brunch since its launch and October’s event will be third time it has been hosted.

The event is expected to attract more than 200 people to the venue on Hales Industrial Estate, Rowley’s Green Ln near Coventry Building Society Arena.

It takes on the style of a traditional bottomless brunch, with unlimited free drinks between 2pm and 3pm and a two-course meal, which will be a combination of authentic Indian cuisine, wings, vegetarian options and other specialities.

However, Dhillon’s Brewery has placed an emphasis on the entertainment and live performances at the brunch to make it an all-day party event.

Due to popularity of the Bhangra Brunch in its first two events, Dhillon’s Brewery has extended the closing time of the event to 10pm, with doors opening at 1pm.

Panjabi MC will be joined by dhol players, bhangra dancers and a stellar line-up of other DJs including Surinder Rattan, Daljit Mattu, DJ Indi, DJ Taran D and DJ Amrik.

Panjabi MC said: “We’re looking forward to a huge afternoon and evening at Dhillon’s Brewery and we’ll be playing a mix of old school and new school bhangra.

“The event is a lot of fun and it’s always good to get the chance to play here in Coventry. I’ll be spinning on the day, and will be joined by some great DJs and producers.”

Dhillon’s Brewery will be offering ticket holders bottomless drinks from 2pm to 3pm including beers and a selection of cocktails, including Rum Punch, Godfather and Margarita cocktails.

The first Bhangra Brunch was hosted in 2022 after Dhillon’s Brewery decided there was a gap in the brunch market for an event showcasing the very best of Asian culture.

Organisers say it is an inclusive event, and while the majority of the music will be bhangra and Bollywood-themed, there will also be hip hop and R&B for brunch goers to enjoy.

Dal Dhillon, Managing Director at Dhillon’s Brewery, added: “The first two Bhangra Brewery Brunches we hosted were a huge success and we are committed to continuing to grow and expand the event.

“Brunches can sometimes be just the food and drink, but we always wanted the Bhangra Brunch to be much more than that, with the entertainment really at the heart of the event.

“We’ve known Panjabi MC for the last few years and it’s great for us to be partnering with him on this event, he is just as passionate as we are about providing memorable experiences here in Coventry.”

Paul Jones, Managing Director of Destination Coventry, said: “We have an incredibly varied entertainment offer in Coventry, but there is always space to grow, and this event from Dhillon’s Brewery provides further diversity, while also reflecting the rich culture and musical heritage of the city. This is a great example of a venue being versatile and innovative in order to provide great experiences for its visitors.”
